The heart of therapy: presence over perfect words
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to age as a therapist—how the work changes, how I change. In this time of life, words don’t always come as easily, but what remains steady is my presence.
Therapy, for me, has never been just about what’s said. It’s about showing up with openness and care, creating a refuge where others feel safe to be fully themselves. As I continue to grow older, I’m learning to offer that same acceptance to myself.
Maybe that’s the heart of the work after all. 💛
